Chatelein: contacted someone at Hampton School who is going to talk to someone to talk to someone… so we’ll see if we hear anything;

MoY: her background check has expired, so if someone else wants to do the job, feel free.

A&S: she hasn’t decided what we’re doing at the meeting this month. It will be a surprise!!!!!!!

Herald: we have a herald.

Chronicler: he is still waiting for a quorum of articles.

Exchequer: we have money. We are going to reimburse for the Advent Feast.

Web Minister: we have a website. His log-in works. Sofya wants the recipes from the Advent Feast.

Archery: hard to dodge the blizzards.

Seneschal: remember to get reports in. Kingdom is looking for a new Kingdom Advocate.

August Event: Brigida is willing to autocrat if someone else will Feast Steward. Stasi is willing to Feast Steward if someone can test for her (happy to hear we’re only cooking for 40). Rune is willing to be her taste-tester. Juliana would rather not spend all day in the kitchen this year.

Kingdom Event: Brigida points out that bids for Queen’s Prize 2027 will be due soon, so she wonders if we want to do another bid, since our last bid apparently was rejected. Brigida wonders about the new Bremer County Fairgrounds. Gobban says it could be okay, but only the one big indoor option apart from barns. We vote to go for it, planning the Waverly church as previously discussed unless Gida gets good info about the rental fee/facilities at the Bremer County Fairgrounds in time.

Project Day on the 24th. Holiday Party on the 31st.

Friday, March 20th – Paul Byram of the Irish Tenors will be performing at First Methodist. If we get enough tickets, a buddy or two might come, too.

December 11th, First Methodist Church, Mason City, IA

Webminster: we have a web site. Deputy forgot to check availability of hillians.org for unofficial shire emails.

Chatelaine – nothing new coming up for demos.

Herald – we have names, devices, herald extraordinary titles.

Exchequer – Avelyn is still the official exchequer, working on transferring to Gwen. We still have money.

Chronicler – still waiting for enough submissions to make a newsletter.

Kingdom Event – Gida has posted the sites’ info to the Google email group. Bids for 2025 would already be in, so we can aim for 2026. So plan to just to have our event in August as usual, Grafton site already reserved.

Holiday Party – Park House, January 25th c. 6:30 pm, garb, potluck, $15-ish gift exchange. After the project/sewing party.

12 January 2022, First United Methodist Church

Attending: Juliana, William, Rune, Randall, Avelyn, Tatiana, Sophia, Ben, Sofya, Sifrid, Brigida, Gobban, Gwyn.

Chatelaine: Finally got some of the bookmarks to hand out at demos, from Kris Kinder. No demos coming up.

Chronicler: We can have an issue when people submit enough material. He’s planning a feature article with little blurbs from everyone about what we’ve been doing with the SCA during the Covid. Juliana thinks it would be interesting to learn more about the history of games like Goose, Shut-the-Box, etc.

Herald: We have names and devices.

Exchequer: All checks have been cashed, our accounts are balanced.

Archery: We’re going to try to get in an indoor archery shoot this winter, since the Mohawk Archery club isn’t doing their big 3D shoot this winter hogging the space. Probably a Saturday in February.

Web Minister: We have a website. He hasn’t heard anything new on the official email situation.

Contact Group Sponsoring: the Spencer area group is requesting us to be a sponsor. The main “real” thing is that we would need to track their money. And if they want to do an event, we’d have to be the official hosting group (do the paperwork and track the money). It’s usually takes about 3 years to either they prove they can make it or not. We vote to sponsor them.

A&S Meeting: Gida is going to do etching since she hasn’t been able to get the fabric stamping stuff together.

Attending: Rune, Tatiana, Sophia, Ben, Avelyn, Randall, Juliana, William, Sifrid, Sofya, Brigida, Berndt, Gwyn, Gobban

Chatelaine: nothing new, not sure if we want to approach Hampton this year, maybe after Christmas

Herald: nothing new, new personas/devices/badges being considered.

Chronicler: if we want an issue in January, start getting him some articles

Exchequer: no new expenditures or incomes.

Web Minister: we have a webpage. He hasn’t heard anything on the new officer email situation.

Archery Marshal: we have bows and arrows. It would be nice if we could use them.

Events: Juliana is going to tour the Cedar Spring Park that Jutte found, although they’re transitioning leadership so that will complicate things. It sounds like a really nice site. Full kitchen, big gym-like space, pre-set archery range.

There isn’t a lot of new information on Jutte. She’s getting a bit stir-crazy. WBC are really low, might be needing a bone marrow transplant.
