March 2026 Business Meeting

Chornicler: nothing to report

A&S : will be making pins so bring wire tools, metal files…

Herald: Brigida’s Herald Extraordinary title (Monkshood Herald) passed.

Exchequer: we have money. There are new protocols with a new handbook for her to figure out, but it doesn’t look too bad.

Seneschal: Brigida put in the paperwork for St. Augustine’s Faire.

Kingdom Event Bid: do we want to use the Bremer County Fairgrounds instead of the church?

  • 70 x 100 ft main space ($700), conference room ($250), panel rental ($25 each) to block off a judges area,
  • Fee includes having fair staff on-site all day to help with TP in the bathrooms, etc.
  • lots of space and refrigerators in the kitchen, dedicated outlets on separate circuits, working on getting a stove but maybe not done by then
  • reserving outdoor area for fighting ($100).
  • so ballpark $1,200 total
  • Site fee $15 members, $25 non-members (free will donation for inn)
  • Bid for Queen’s Prize, Gida event steward, Julianna inn steward.
  • Lots of windows, sheltered outdoor sitting space,
  • room for camping (self-register on-line, $15 tent camping?, $30 electrical?) with access to the flushies if porta-potties.
  • Okay to come in Friday for setting unless someone else has rented.
  • No recreational alcohol, but okay for entries/judging.
  • Church was going to be a bit cheaper, but space more broken up, steps vs elevator, possibly losing our privy chamber space to the expanding school… see October 2025 Business Meeting
  • “Kingdom A&S bid: We need to finalize our big for Kingdom A&S. Figure 200 people. Site expense ~$600. Narthex $400, fellowship hall $150, three classroooms $75. Site fee $25/15 (children $5). ePay required for pre-reg b/c kingdom event. $600 for a good inn.”
  • We vote to use the Bremer County Fairgrounds in the bid to host Queen’s Prize in spring 2027.
